One of the great reasons to choose to work at home is to be more of a presence in your children’s lives. Now that two career families are a rule and not an exception, one parent’s ability to generate an income while in control of the home front is an asset. The Internet has brought us back home, as many profitable online home businesses spring up globally. But a great percent of these entrepreneurs now have a home office to add to the list of danger areas for the little ones.

As in the rest of the house, a good way to start a baby proofing is to get down on all fours and assess the area from that level. Seeing the room as your child does will give you your plan of attack. This height will contain most of your problem areas. Something as simple as emptying the wastebasket regularly, or installing or purchasing lockable desks and cabinets will save you grief.

Electricity is everywhere in an online home business office. Power bars exploding cords to your computer, your printer, scanner, fax, phone etc. This also brings hanging cords to all those devices and the possibility of them being pulled down. Plugging unused outlets is advisable as well as keeping cords neat and taped or tucked securely.

There is also the flip side of baby proofing. Protecting YOUR stuff. Backing up important data regularly on the computer is a good habit. The ability to lock the keyboard also saves random computer mishaps from roving fingers. This is also reason number two for lockable desks and cabinets, so that breakables can join the arsenal of scissors, staplers, punches, thumbtacks etc.

Good old- fashioned vigilance is still our best defence. Be honest about the amount of attention you can give and if that is sufficient supervision. Our children are worth getting help with if you need to give more focus to work on occasion. Simply locking the office when its not in use eliminates it as a worry in the family times.

The last tool is common sense. Ere on the side of caution. If it's precarious don’t tempt fate. The same rules apply in the home office as the rest of the house. Fasten shelves and bookcases to the wall and so on. So, happy home working and keep our children safe!

In the last post some Internet marketing terms were thrown out rapidly to show what a good marketing campaign might consist of. Here is a little slower look at some key elements.

Niche market, target market, a focused demagraphic of consumers, this is the fun part. The best place to start is with what you know. Your passions are as good a place as any to build a profitable online home business around. Knowing what you love to do and then to make a living, and a substantial one at that, is a good definitian of success.

Finding the niche within your chosen field, the fine tuning, is also not difficult, just time consuming. This stage consists of running hundreds of keyword and keyword phrases through a good keyword analyzer. Not only will this tell you what your prospective custumers are searching for, but give ideas for keyword rich content AND the start of a Google Adword campaign.

The idea is to sell people what they want that not too many others are selling. There are still tons of hungry markets, happy hunting.

Getting valuable information on the the Internet about home business ideas and opportunities is harder than it may sound. Thousands of competing sites with relitivly the same information, all having dozens of testimonials and identical claims...WE WILL MAKE YOU MONEY ONLINE... but can they all deliver?
Well, yes and no, not everyone makes millions online, but the process is sound, it does work. The hidden variable is You. Choose a solid program or two or more complementery marketing groups and follow there marketing steps to the letter, don't cut corners, although you can get creative.
The urge is to try and do it all, sign up for everything, but the key to success is to focus and become really good at each step. Its a quality not quantity approach.

These days, it seems like everyone wants to work
from home and make money on the Internet. But

For me, what happened was creating a successful,
self-running Internet marketing system. It didn’t
happen without effort. It didn’t happen without
at least some initial investment of both time and
money and, of course, it doesn’t happen now
without me making sure that the taxes are filed
and the paperwork is done. But it happened.

I’m my own boss. I work from home according to my
own schedule and I get to pocket all the cash my
business makes. If you’re prepared to give an
